San Francisco PFLAG Donates $1000.00 / Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
of Valdosta Donates $350.00


As most of you know already, HeartStrong is always in need of funding.  In
spite of the fact that we have designated 2008 as the first year we intend
to raise all of the money needed for HeartStrong's budget, we are way
behind in raising funds for HeartStrong.

In addition to the faithful support from our monthly donors, HeartStrong
is happy to announce two large recent donations.  The first is from the
San Francisco chapter of PFLAG.  This is the second largest donation to
HeartStrong from any PFLAG chapter in the ten year history of our work.
Back in 2006, The Modesto chapter of PFLAG also donated $1000.00.  It is
also the second largest donation to HeartStrong from any organization.

After a recent community event, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of
Valdosta, Georgia made a $350.00 to HeartStrong.  This is the largest
single donation from a Unitarian Universalist congregation.

Such large donations are very rare for HeartStrong.  We are so grateful to
both the San Francisco chapter of PFLAG and the UU Fellowship of Valdosta
for their support of HeartStrong.

It was such an encouragement to receive these donations.  Their commitment
to support the work of HeartStrong was both
encouraging and energizing.

Many times in our work, it is easy to get discouraged since we have never
even raised one year's budget over the ten years of doing this, but when
loving, caring folks provide support as they did, it really does encourage
us.

We still have a long way to go to meet HeartStrong's financial needs but
as always we believe that those who hear what we have to say and can see
our vision, will provide the funds necessary for HeartStrong to continue
its life-saving work.
