[HeartStrongList] Spain Catholic School Backtracking...religious right press release

Hi Everyone...

The previous infomation about the catholic school in Spain backtracking is
NOT a HeartStrong press release.  This is information from THE SCHOOL not
from HeartStrong. (Which explains its harsh and biased text.)

As is standard, all of HeartStrong's press releases feature our header
with contact information.  They are easily distinguished and ALWAYS
feature quotes from myself, one of the HeartStrong board of directors or
our president, Shelley Craig in the body of the press release.  It's just
like getting a press release from any other organization.

Although the news piece from the school does not say anything about
HeartStrong, I want to make sure that no one thinks that HeartStrong in
any way has had anything to do with getting laws passed to protect glbt
students in religious schools in Spain OR in Canada.  (These are the only
two countries with laws on the books to protect students.)

HeartStrong's mission from day one (nearly eleven years ago) has always
been to first, provide support and outreach to persecuted students at
these schools and second, to educate the public about what can and does
happen in these schools in this regard.

In countries like Canada where there are laws on the books to protect
students in these schools, HeartStrong's responsibility is also advocacy. 
Helping students and their families enact the protections that are there
for them is an important aspect of Canadian.

This has been HeartStrong's policies since day one and we repeat our
mission pretty much every time we talk about the work of HeartStrong.

I know some of you have also asked how to show support for the students in
Spain, particularly the students of this one Catholic school.   We are
working on that now and will let you know as soon as everything is put
together.  This is a relatively new turn of events although we knew it was
coming.
