The work never ends!  As is typical for this time of year, many students from both religious and public schools are facing the prospect of be enrolled into a religious college or university in just a couple months.  Without fail, HeartStrong always receives requests from students who are desperately trying to change their parent's minds about enrolling them into a religious college.

While HeartStrong cannot change the parent's minds when they have religious or conformist reasons for sending their kids to religious colleges and universities, HeartStrong is able to provide support and information that would not be part of the student's general knowledge.

We are also busy working on our summer outreach and educational programs.  In July we will spend two weeks in MN, IL and WI.  In August we will spend two weeks in CO.  We are excited to be  revisiting these states.  If you are interested in attending an educational forum in these states please check out our forum schedule on this site.  If your group would like to host an educational forum, please contact HeartStrong through this site.

We've been super busy with our outreach and educational work.  From Huntsville AL to Albany GA to Hendersonville NC, our plate has been quite
full.

We are however, feeling the extreme pain of ridiculous gas prices.  Anyone want to help HeartStrong get a Toyota Prius?  At this point in our more
than 11 years of work, a Prius is going to be the only responsible vehicle for HeartStrong to use to do its work.

We are also still behind in our fundraising for this year.  In order to
conserve funds we are combining our April and May newsletters.  So, if you are a monthly donor and rely on getting the newsletter as a reminder for
your donation, please remember to include your April AND May donations when you send your May donations in.  You can also make you donations online.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

We recently did visits to Southeastern Christian University, Bob Jones
University as well as a few religious high schools.  As usual our visits were simple and uneventful.  Eleven years of school visits and we are still able to walk on campus, do our work

and walk off without any drama
from the schools.

This outreach/educational trip continues until May 28.  If you live in GA

We are also busy working on scheduling our programs for the rest of the year and they will appear on the schedule as they are confirmed.  Keep

Two special HeartStrong educational forums will be held in Florida.  The first will be held at the University Unitarian Universalist Church in Orlando, FL on Sunday, February 3, 2008.  The program will take place during the morning service.

The second forum is sponsored by the Community Unitarian Universalist Church in New Smyrna Beach, FL.  The program is at 4pm.

These programs are open to the public.  If you are nearby or know someone who is, come by and hear about HeartStrong!

Last year, we told all of you about GoodSearch.com.  By going to their site and selecting HeartStrong as your designated nonprofit, HeartStrong receives $.01 for every search you do through GoodSearch.com.  We just received our check for 2007 for $11.10.  Might seem like a small amount, however, that's a lot of searches done under our name.

Keep it up in 2008!  Invite your friends to do the same.  We all search the internet so why not help HeartStrong at the same time!
